KUCHING URBAN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
In 2022, we’re swiftly ramping up our efforts to build a greener and more efficient public transportation system for Kuching city.
To mark the start of our project’s civil & structural engineering works this year, and in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of our parent company, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), we’re inviting creative Sarawakians to be part of our journey by creating a brand-new logo for our Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project.
We hope you'll take this opportunity to design a fresh and visually-enticing logo that best represents the positive changes this project will bring to our beloved capital city of Sarawak.
What is KUTS ?
Sarawak Metro incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC). Sarawak Metro as the implementer of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).
KUTS will serve as a backbone system to minimise and alleviate traffic congestion towards Kuching city centre.
At the heart of the KUTS project is the ART system.
Participant Eligibility
The participant has to be a Sarawakian and not employed (or an immediate family/household member of an employee) under Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd.

The logo with originality, high quality design & aesthetics should convey KUTS project and has the word ‘Kuching Urban Transportation System’.
May consider integrating the word ‘KUTS’ as part of the logo.
The logo should be relevant to the rapid system industry.
May consider integrating elements that convey carbon-neutrality and/or zero-emission.
Design structure should be prominent in all sizes and adapt well on both digital and printed platforms.
Any colour will be accepted as a submission, but design rationale must be provided, and logos must be applicable in monotone as well.

Submission should include the participant's name, contact number, email, and a brief explanation of the logo and colour choice (rationale of design).
The submitted file must be a JPEG or PDF. The winner will be requested for the source file after the announcement of the results.
Interested participants may submit logo design proposals to kutslogo@mysarawakmetro.com any time after the announcement of the contest on or after 4 April 2022.
The closing of submission falls at 5.00 pm, 3 June 2022. In the event that no designs are found suitable, Sarawak Metro reserves the right to extend the date of submission.
Participants agree that all files become the property of Sarawak Metro upon submission.

Participants agree that all files become the property of Sarawak Metro upon submission and are not returnable. All participants agree to assign absolutely to Sarawak Metro without charge all intellectual property rights, including the right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, license and/or otherwise deal with (whether for commercial and non-commercial purpose) the submitted logo design.

By joining the contest, participants declare that their work is original and does not infringe on any third-party intellectual properties (i.e. does not include, be based on, or derived/modified from any pre-existing and/or third party designs, trademarks or copyrighted images).
Any infringement that may arise would be the sole responsibility of the participant, as they would be responsible to prove its authenticity.
