Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), is the implementer of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS). Through the KUTS project, we aim to provide urban commuters a safe and reliable mode of travel that is also more convenient, comfortable and environmentally-friendly.

 

We are currently looking for candidates for the following positions to join our team in transforming the public transport system in Sarawak:

General Job Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree / Equivalent qualification, and

  2. Minimum years of experience in the industry;

    1. 15 years for Managerial level

    2. 10 years for Assistant Manager

    3. 6 years for Senior Executive / Senior Engineer

    4. 3 years for Executive / Engineer

A. Risk Management

  1. Senior Engineer - Risk Management

Responsible for identifying potential problems before they occur and having a plan for addressing them, as well as looking at internal and external risks that could negatively impact the organisation.

B. Business Development

Responsible for identifying opportunities for business growth and creating marketing strategies based on those opportunities in order to meet and exceed revenue goals.

C. Corporate Communication and Socio-Economic Enhancement Development (SEED) Programme

  1. Executive - Stakeholder

  2. Executive - SEED Programme

The Stakeholder Executive is responsible for assisting business units to effectively consult and engage stakeholders on relevant projects.

 

The SEED Programme Executive is responsible for managing, administering and monitoring the implementation of the SEED Programme activities and to ensure compliance of the processes and requirements related to the SEED Programme.

D. Security Management

Responsible for the overall vision and execution of safety and security management on site, as well as ensuring all safety and security policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Preferably candidates specializing in Security / Armed Forces / Protective Services or equivalent.

E. Document Control Centre

  1. Assistant Manager - EDMS Administrator

  2. Document Control Executive

Responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient preparation and management of documents.

F. Safety, Health, Environment & Traffic Management (SHET) (KUTS)

  1. Manager - Traffic Management

  2. Officer - Traffic Management

  3. Safety and Health Officer (SHO)

  4. Executive - Environment

Responsible for monitoring current and potential health and safety risks and ensuring potential hazards of specific projects have been identified and addressed before work is started. Preferably a competent person certified by the relevant authority (Example: SHO Green Book, TMO etc.)

G. Project Quality (KUTS)

  1. Senior Engineer - Project Quality

Responsible for the preparation and control of project quality system management documentation prior to project commencement, as well as monitoring the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports, and monitoring the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.

H. System Assurance and Requirements (KUTS)

  2. Engineer - RAM & System Safety

  3. Engineer - Software & EMC

  4. Engineer - Requirements

Responsible for ensuring projects follow the Systems Assurance processes, thereby ensuring compliance with required functional and safety standards, as well as planning, keeping track and communicating changes in requirements throughout the projects. Preferably candidates with relevant experience in Railway – RAMS projects, including wayside, rolling stock and signalling.

I. Contract and Commercial (KUTS)

  1. Senior Manager / Project Cost Control

  3. Senior Contract Administration / Senior Quantity Surveyor

  4. Contract Administration / Quantity Surveyor

  5. Claim Administrator

Responsible for managing all aspects of commercial construction projects; working closely with clients, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

J. Civil, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Infrastructure (KUTS) – Design & Construction

  1. BIM Manager

  2. BIM Coordinator / Engineer

  3. Project Manager - Civil

  4. Architect

  5. Senior Engineer - Geotechnical / Bridge / Road / Drainage / Utilities / Building

  6. Engineer - Road Works / Depot Station Works / M&E / Precast Construction

Responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budgets, as well as managing and overseeing the day-to-day construction management of the project. Preferably candidates with relevant experience in a Railway and Design Consulting.

K. Systems (KUTS)

  1. Project Manager – ITS & OCC

  2. Senior System Engineer – Automatic Fare Collection

  3. Senior System Engineer – Communications System

  4. Senior System Engineer – Computerized Maintenance Management System

  5. Senior System Engineer – Depot Equipment & Maintenance Vehicle

  6. Senior System Engineer – Hydrogen Power

  7. Senior System Engineer – SCADA

  8. Senior System Engineer – Information Technology System & Operation Control Centre (ITS & OCC)

  9. Senior System Engineer – Rolling Stock

  10. Senior System Engineer – Signaling, Train Control & Automatic Platform Gate

Responsible for providing insight and technical engineering expertise on railway projects and systems. Preferably candidates with relevant experience in Railway.

L. Interface (KUTS)

  1. Engineer – Interface

Responsible for identifying and managing the system interfaces between the various packages of work on a major rail project.

M. Planning (KUTS)

  1. Planning Engineer – Reporting

Responsible for liaising with internal departments and subcontractors in the preparation of weekly/monthly progress reports as well as preparing the master programme schedule and planning during the tender and implementation stages. Proficient in P6 Primavera program.

N. Hydrogen Feeder Bus Operations (KUTS)

  1. Manager – Feeder bus system

  2. Engineer – Feeder bus system

Responsible for designing and preparing preliminary and final plans for the Feeder Bus System. Preferably candidates with relevant experience in a feeder bus transportation.
